SALEM – The Roanoke College volleyball team fell in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action on Tuesday Night, 3-0 to Randolph-Macon College. The Maroons now have a record of 8-5; 2-2 ODAC, while the Yellow Jackets are 9-4; 3-1 in ODAC play.

The Maroons played Randolph-Macon tight in the first game, trading the lead back and forth in the opening moments. The Yellow Jackets went on to grab a six point, 18-12 lead. The Maroons battled back behind the serves of Jessica Block and Samantha Klostermann, reclaiming the lead at 22-21, having won nine of the last 13 points. The two teams swapped leads again, and Randolph-Macon won the final two points to take the first set 26-24.

In the second set, the Yellow Jackets rattled off large spurts of points, including seven straight to take a 24-12 lead, as they won the second set 25-14. In the third set, Roanoke grabbed an early 3-2 lead after a Kill from Mackenzie Allen. In the middle of the game, Randolph-Macon won four straight points, then Roanoke turned around and won four straight of its own, tying the game at 14-14. However, the Yellow Jackets won six of the next seven points to build a large lead, which they held on to, defeating Roanonke 25-22.

Samantha Klostermann led the Maroons in kills with eight, followed by Macey Tyree and Kristen Wicander with five each. Alexandra Martin dished out a team high 13 assists, while Jessica Block tallied 10. Mackenzie Tyree topped all players on the team with 21 digs, while sister Macey Tyree finished with 13.

The Maroons return to action on Saturday and Sunday, September 21-22 as they travel to Marietta, Ohio to play Denison and Marietta, respectively. Saturday's game will have a start time of 4:45 PM, while the Sunday game will begin at 11:00 AM.
