FOREST, Va. -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released its annual All-Academic teams on Friday morning. After having the most student-athletes named ODAC All-Academic in 2020-21 with 211, Roanoke College would break that number with a record 229 for the 2022-23 academic year.
Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete that competes in a conference-sponsored sport, regardless of academic class. Prospective honorees must achieve at least a 3.25 grade point average for the academic year to be considered for an ODAC All-Academic Team recognition.
The Maroons were one of 11 conference schools that had more than 100 student-athletes represented, with an overall total of 2,515. Roanoke joined Washington and Lee, the University of Lynchburg, Shenandoah, and Bridgewater as the top five schools with student-athletes receiving the academic distinction.
