Gabrielle Oney was named Head Athletic Trainer at Roanoke College in November of 2020. Deucher returned to her alma mater after a year and a half stint at a high school in Gig Harbor, Washington.
During her time at Roanoke as an undergrad, Gabrielle was a student in the Athletic Training program under the guidance of Jim Buriak. In addition to working in the training room, Deucher did research with Buriak and Dr. Delmas Bolin on the correlation between sleep and strength gains in collegiate baseball players.
After earning her bachelor's degree at Roanoke in May of 2017, Deucher went on graduate school at the University of South Carolina. In Columbia, she was able to learn unique skills such as diagnostic ultrasound, casting, bracing, and suturing, earning her Master's degree in Advanced Athletic Training in May of 2019. In addition to her work with the Gamecocks women's basketball and equestrian teams, Gabrielle worked with a local high school as well as a high performance strength and conditioning facility.
Deucher resides in Daleville with her husband, Michael, and dog, Milo.
