Come Out for Roanoke College Pack The House Week!
This is a big week for Roanoke College athletics. Starting on Tuesday, we have over 10 sporting events going on, including games during Alumni Weekend. Take a look at the schedule of events that are planned.

WEDNESDAY, April 8th
Men's Lacrosse vs. Washington & Lee - 7 PM at Kerr Stadium
The men's lacrosse team will be in action on Wednesday night as they take on perrennial rival Washington & Lee at 7:00 PM. The Generals picked up their first win on Tuesday after being on a three game losing streak. The Maroons have lost two in a row and are looking to get back in the swing of the ODAC standings. Both teams currently are 3-2 in ODAC play, and a win for the Maroons will give them a leg up in the seeding once the pairings for the ODAC Tournament get under way. If you have ever been at Roanoke College for a game against Washington and Lee, you know this is a game you will not want to miss.

Roanoke holds a 3-2 record over Washington & Lee in the last five games, with the Generals getting the most recent win in the 2014 season. The Maroons defeated Washington & Lee twice in the 2013 season, including a 10-9 victory to win Roanoke's 18th ODAC Championship. Will Pilat leads the Maroons in scoring with 23 goals, while Tyler McWilliams and Kevin Jackson have 22 and 21 goals, respectively. Jackson leads the team in points with 36, adding 15 assists to his credit this season. Be sure to come out and cheer on the Maroons for this sure to be exciting match-up.

THURSDAY, April 9th
Women's Lacrosse vs. Sweet Briar - 4 PM (Pack The House)
The Roanoke College Women's Lacrosse team is currently on a three game win streak, having defeated Bridgewater, Guilford and Randolph Colleges. Roanoke most recently defeated Randolph 20-6 on Friday. Darragh Evarts was also named ODAC Player of the Week for her performance over the past three games. She scored 10 goals with five assists during that three game span.

Thursday's game will also be a Pack The House game, meaning we want as many people to come out and support the Maroons. The Pack the House Tailgate will take place at the storage shed at the new entrance to Kerr Stadium, next to the track. The event will begin at 3:30 PM with free food that has been catered by All-Sports. You must be wearing Maroon apparel to receive your free All Sports food. Then head over to the stands to cheer on the Maroons as they look for a fourth straight victory with a win over Sweet Briar.

FRIDAY, April 10th
Women's Lacrosse vs. Virginia Wesleyan - 6 PM (Senior Day)
Friday marks the official start to Alumni Weekend, and no better way to celebrate Alumni Weekend with a little women's lacrosse at Kerr Stadium. At 4:30 PM, all alumni, students, faculty and staff are welcome to the Back Quad to take part in Friday on the Quad. There will be musical entertainment provided by Jacabone, featuring Fritz Berry '89.

After FOTQ, head on down to Kerr Stadium to watch the Maroons take on Virginia Wesleyan in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action. The Marlins are 7-5 on the season with a 3-3 mark in conference play. Roanoke is currently tied for fourth in the ODAC with a conference record of 4-2, so this match-up will be important as the ODAC regular season is starting to wind down. Get your Alumni Weekend started off right with Women's Lacrosse on Friday evening. The Game will also serve as senior day for the Roanoke women. The Maroons have six seniors: Kyra Sichelstiel, Darragh Evarts, Alexa Germany, Lauren Curtin, Meghan Gerrie and Allison Shannon. So be sure to come cheer on the Maroons on Senior Night. You can even stay after the women's lacrosse game for the Men's Soccer Alumni Game, which will also take place at Kerr Stadium.

SATURDAY, April 11th
Men's Lacrosse vs. Shenandoah - 2 PM (Senior Day)
The Roanoke College men's lacrosse team will be in action during the heart of Alumni Weekend. There will be a Maroon Club reception for all Maroon Club members, running concurrently with the Men's Lacrosse game, starting at 2:00 PM. The men's lacrosse game will begin with a recognition of the team's senior class, which includes: Dylan Torrey, Dale Smith, Gil Long, Chad Smith, Wes Pancoast, Seth Fortmann, Will Carter, Isles Mitchell, Cam Ormiston and Troy Grogan.

After the senior day recognition, the Maroons will take on Shenandoah University. As of today, Shenandoah is 4-7, 0-4 in ODAC action. The Maroons are 6-5, 3-2 in the ODAC. While the Maroons have lost their last two contests, they will be coming into the game having played Washington and Lee at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, and hopefully they will be coming off of a big victory in that contest. This is the final home game for the men's lacrosse team for the ODAC regular season, so be sure to come out and make a lot of noise for the squad as they look to take down the Hornets of Shenandoah.

SATURDAY, April 11th
Softball vs. Shenandoah - 1 PM (Senior Day)
Also happening on Saturday will be Senior Day for the softball team at the Moyer Complex. Roanoke will be playing on field four, as it is the permanent home field for the softball team at Moyer. The doubleheader against Shenandoah marks the final home games for the Maroons in the regular season, but if Roanoke can continue to win, they have a shot at being the top seed in the ODAC tournament, which would then be hosted at the Moyer Complex on March 24-26.

Roanoke will recognize its senior class before the start of the first game. Seniors that will be recognized include: Kelly Higbie, Rhea Schleicher and Alexis Roop. These are the last remaining members of the team who were a part of the NCAA Tournament team, the Dirty Dozen, who finished fourth in the nation in the 2012 NCAA Softball Tournament. Shenandoah is currently 7-17, 5-9 in the ODAC, so the Maroons will need you out at the field to help cheer them on for the last time in the Moyer Complex for the regular season!

Excitingly, Roanoke softball swept the ODAC Player of the Week awards, with Taylor Carter being named Player of the Week and Kelly Higbie earning Pitcher of the Week honors. Carter helped the Maroons extend their winning streak to six straight as she batted .429 with four extra base-hits in doubleheader sweeps of Randolph and Randolph-Macon. Higbie went 3-0 last week in four outings as Roanoke swept series with Randolph and Randolph-Macon. She started with a five-inning no-hitter of Randolph, giving up two walks and striking out one. For the season, Higbie is 9-8 with a 2.05 earn run average in an ODAC-high 92.0 innings of work.

TUESDAY, April 14th
Baseball vs. Guilford - 7 PM at Lewis-Gale Field (Pack The House)
Just like the softball team, Roanoke College Baseball is hitting full stride in this part of the season. The Maroons have won 10 of its last 11 games, and now sit with a record of 13-7, 8-3 in ODAC play. Most recently, the Maroons defeated #10 ranked Randolph-Macon twice on Sunday. The pair of wins on Sunday mark the biggest wins for the Roanoke College baseball program, as the Maroons had not beaten a top-10 team, let alone sweeping the opponent in the process. With the pair of wins, Roanoke moves ahead of Randolph-Macon in the ODAC standings, taking third place entering the final two weeks of regular season play. The Maroons have won their last eight straight ODAC contests, after starting out 0-3 to the season.

Tuesday will be a Pack the House game at Lewis-Gale field for the Maroons. Students in attendance, who are wearing their Maroon gear, will get vouchers for free food and a drink from the concession stand at Lewis-Gale field. The Maroons have 11 games left in the season and are five wins away from tying the program record for wins in a season with 18. Guilford, Roanoke's opponent, is currently ranked ninth in the ODAC with a record of 9-19, 5-11 in the ODAC. Be sure to come out and cheer the Maroons on to victory in this ODAC contest.
