The Lead: Roanoke won its fourth straight game with a shutout win over McDaniel Saturday afternoon in Salem.

How it Happened:

  • Megan Diehl gave Roanoke a quick 1-0 lead as she found the back of the cage off a pass from Rebecca Schmidt following a corner.
  • The scored stayed that way until Leonore Keunen doubled RC's advantage with a hard shot from just inside the top of the circle with under 13 minutes to play.
  • Emma Clark made nine saves in goal for Roanoke en route to the shutout as Roanoke has outscored its opponents 17-3 to start off the season. 
  • The Maroons owned a 13-11 edge in shots and a 14-8 advantage in penalty corners over McDaniel.  
  • Paige Ford made nine saves in cage for the Green Terror on the day.
