RC Picked Fourth in ODAC Field Hockey Poll

Salem, Va. – The Roanoke College Field Hockey team has been picked fourth in the 2019 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Preseason Poll.

Roanoke finished last season with a 12-4 overall record. The Maroons advanced to the ODAD Semifinals for the second consecutive year. Roanoke welcomes back two First-Team All-ODAC members in goalkeeper Emma Clark and forward Emilee Wooten.

RC garnered 42 points to place fourth in the poll. Reigning champion University of Lynchburg collected eight first place votes on the way to a chart-topping 64 points. Shenandoah University made it 1-2 Hornets with 53 markers to sit second, while Washington and Lee University is close in third at 50 tallies including the remaining first place consideration.

Roanoke will open the season Friday when it hosts Lancaster Bible at 3:00 p.m.
