The Basics:

Location: Salem, Va.
The Lead: Roanoke College used a 27-6 shot advantage and scored four times as they shutout visiting Wilson College.
How it happened:
- Less than two minutes into the game, Emilee Wooten took a rebound off a save from the Wilson net minder and put it into the back of the cage.
- Four minutes later, Wooten repeated her effort off a saved shot form Martha Hurley to give the Maroons a 2-0 edge.
- At the break, Roanoke had a 13-4 shot advantage as the Maroons controlled the action in front of the Wilson cage.
- In the second half, Roanoke would capitalize on one of their 16 penalty corners as Alexis Lester took the ball from the back post and centered a perfect pass to Lauren Heffron to add to the lead.
- The final frame would see yet another Roanoke goal when Claudia Roncone took a one-touch pass from Emily Gabrielian to wrap up the scoring on the night.
- Emma Clark turned away all three shots that hit their mark en route to the shutout.
