Freund Earns First-Team All-State Honors from VaSID

Salem, Va. – Roanoke College standout Josh Freund has been named First-Team All-State by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).

This is the latest in a collection of postseason awards for Freund who was named an All-American by both the NABC and DIII News. He received all-region honors from D3hoops.com and was an all-district honoree from the NABC. He was also named the ODAC Player of the Year and First-Team All-ODAC.

Freund finished his junior season averaging 18.4 ppg. and 10.4 rpg. His 60.1 field goal percentage was tops in the ODAC and his 515 total points for the season was most among ODAC players. Freund finished the year with 15 double-doubles.

Roanoke and Freund earned a 20-8 record and advanced to the championship game of the ODAC Tournament. He also named to the ODAC All-Tournament Team.
