Golf Finishes Third at ODAC Championships
CAPE CHARLES, Va. --- Roanoke improved in each round of play to finish third at the ODAC Championships at Bay Creek Country Club this week. The Maroons shot a combined score of 930 to shoot 66-over for the tournament.
After shooting a 317 in the first round for fourth-place after one round of play, Roanoke improved 10-strokes the following day to move into third heading into the final day. The Maroons finished one-stroke better, shooting a 306 to finish third overall in the tournament.
Brandon Ketron (Abingdon, VA, Abingdon)shot a team-best 10-over with a combined score of 226 to place fourth individually. He had a better score over the last two rounds to finish five strokes behind the tournament-leader. Adam Skaff (Charleston, WV, Charleston Catholic)shot a 230 for the weekend to finish 14-over par, good enough for eighth overall. He also shot a better score in each round of play.
Rob Pepi (Huntington, NY, Walt Whitman)(+20) had a dismal 85 in the first round but then fired a 74 in the second day. He shot a 77 in the final round to finish 19th overall. Casey Fallon (Newburyport, MA, The Gunnery)(+25) carded a combined score of 241 to place 26th individually. Patrick Guzi (Goodview, VA, Staunton River)had a 245 score to finish 30th on the tournament.
