Roanoke Places Fifth in Hampden-Sydney Golf Invitational
FARMVILLE - The Roanoke College golf team placed fifth in the Hampden-Sydney Invitational held at The Manor Golf Course on September 24-25.

The Maroons finished the two-day tournament with a score of 660, shooting 329 on day one, and 331 on day two. Hampden-Sydney took home first place, shooting 34 over par, 28 strokes ahead of the second place team. Bridgewater's Scott Wakely topped all players in the tournament with a score of 146 (+2).

Brent Jernigan was the low-shooter for Roanoke, finishing with a two-day total of 160 (+16) to tie for ninth. William Brown tied for 16th, tallying a final score of 162 (+18). Jack Prater (169) and Will Reitan (170) finished in 32nd and 34th, respectively. Cameron McLaughlin shot 179 for 48th place.

The Maroons return to action in the Virginia State Intercollegiate in Danville, VA. The tournament will take place at the Danville Country Club between September 28-30.
