FARMVILLE - The Roanoke College golf team placed fifth in the Hampden-Sydney Invitational held at The Manor Golf Course on September 24-25.

The Maroons finished the two-day tournament with a score of 660, shooting 329 on day one, and 331 on day two. Hampden-Sydney took home first place, shooting 34 over par, 28 strokes ahead of the second place team. Bridgewater's Scott Wakely topped all players in the tournament with a score of 146 (+2).

Brent Jernigan was the low-shooter for Roanoke, finishing with a two-day total of 160 (+16) to tie for ninth. William Brown tied for 16^th, tallying a final score of 162 (+18). Jack Prater (169) and Will Reitan (170) finished in 32^nd and 34^th, respectively. Cameron McLaughlin shot 179 for 48^th place.

The Maroons return to action in the Virginia State Intercollegiate in Danville, VA. The tournament will take place at the Danville Country Club between September 28-30.
