The Lead: The Roanoke College Golf team improved 10 strokes from its first-round total to move up two spots on the leader board as it closed out the Shenandoah Invitational on Monday.
How it Happened
- Andrew Butts carded his second consecutive top-10 finish by shooting a 71-78—149 to finish in a tie for eighth-place.
- Nick Peters shot a team-best 73 on Monday to finish with an 80-73—153 which landed him in 21st place overall.
- The Maroons as a team shot a 323-313—636 to finish 12th overall. Hampden-Sydney won the tournament with a 286-297—583, 10 strokes better than second-place Stevenson.
Up Next: Roanoke will be off until Oct. 10 when it takes part in the Ted Keller Memorial Tournament at Hanover CC in Ashland, Va.
