The Basics:
Finish: Roanoke College finished 8th out of 17 teams at the Tom Kinder Memorial hosted by Bridgewater.
Results: Day One - 295 (T3) | Day Two - 304 (8th)
Location: Harrisonburg, Va.
The Lead: The Maroons posted a sub 300 round on the first day, 295, and backed it up with a 304 to finish the event at 599. It was the first sub-600 score for the Maroons in recent history.
How it Happened:
- Day one saw the Maroons leading the event at the turn before finishing in a tie for 3rd.
- Cameron Dillon and Justin Grenier each fired a one under par, 71, to be in a tie for 2nd after 18 holes.
- Dillon repeated his performance on day two to finish with a two under par, 142, finishing in a tie for third in the field of 88 golfers.
- Evan Diebus posted a 77 on day two to help Roanoke break the 600 barrier.
- Daniel Poff (76 and 78) and Patrick Hurdle (77 and 78) scored for the Maroons each day in their first collegiate competition.
Up next: Roanoke will host the VSGA on October 14 and 15 at Blacksburg Country Club. The filed will feature over 15 teams from all over the state of Virginia.
