The Lead: The Maroons fell in a dual match with Southern Virginia, but took the match play event from the Knights, earning a split on the day.

How it Happened:

  • In the stroke play, dual match, freshman Cameron Dillon carded a two over par 74.
  • Fellow freshman Will Clary was second on the team and third in the 10 player field with a four over 76.
  • Nicholas Peters (79) and Justin Grenier (81) rounded out the scoring for RC.
  • In match play, the Maroons won four of the five matches.
  • Evan Diebus was even par and picked up an easy 6 and 5 finish, wrapping up his match after just 13 holes.
  • Daniel Poff and Henry Schneider each post wins in 4 and 3.
  • Senior Owen Grayson drained a match cinching par put on his 17th hole to claim a 2 and 1 win.

Up next: The Maroons will host the Knights of Southern Virginia tomorrow at Roanoke Country Club as the two regional rivals will complete a home and home event to kick off the Maroons Spring Break.
