Roanoke Atop ODAC Men's Lacrosse Poll

Forest, Va. – The Roanoke College Men's Lacrosse team was picked atop the 2017 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Preseason Poll.

Roanoke College, winner of an ODAC record 18 men's lacrosse championships, was tabbed as a narrow favorite to add to that total by the league's head coaches. RC picked up five first place votes on the way to 76 total points, just one clear of defending champion Washington and Lee University. The Generals earned four top spot nods.

RC finished 2016 13-5 overall and 8-1 in league play. Head Coach Bill Pilat returns five all-conference selections from a season ago, including First-Team All-ODAC members IV Stucker, Kevin Jackson, Conn Curry and Robby Moore.

The Maroons are ranked No. 19 in the nation in Inside Lacrosse.com's 2017 Face-Off Yearbook Preseason Poll. Stucker was named Preseason First-Team All-American by Inside Lacrosse and was one of four Maroons to earn preseason All-American honors in the 2017 Face-Off Yearbook. Jackson and defenseman Moore were named to the third-team, while Curry was an honorable mention choice.

The Maroons open their season on Feb. 23 when it hosts Birmingham Southern at 4:00 p.m.
