Davies Named to USILA National Team of the Week

Salem, Va. – Roanoke College's Ian Davies has been named the USILA Division III National Team of the Week.

Davies, a junior from Ambler, Pa., combined for 35 saves in a pair of wins for nationally 18th-ranked Roanoke, including a top-20 matchup. Davies opened with 16 saves in the Maroons 9-8 victory over nationally 15th-ranked Christopher Newport. He registered 10 of his saves in the second-half as Roanoke outscored CNU, 6-3, to erase a 5-3 halftime deficit. Davies was back in front of the net in the Maroons 13-11 triumph over Lynchburg. He registered 19 saves for the contest, including seven in the second quarter in which RC outscored LC, 5-1. He also came away with eight second-half stops, including five in the final frame. For the season, Davies leads the ODAC in both saves (135) and save percentage (.587).

For his efforts, Davies was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday as well.

Roanoke is back in action at home on Wednesday when it hosts Guilford at 4:00 p.m.
