How it Happened

  • Randolph-Macon got four first-quarter goals with the final tally coming off the stick of Andrew Tiffey at the 3:04 mark.
  • RC got on the board with 9:43 left in the first-half when Brendan Devane scored to make it 4-1.
  • A goal by Roanoke's George Gilbert would make it 5-2 with 4:42 to go but R-MC got a goal from Brendan Markovic with just five seconds remaining to take a 6-2 edge into halftime.
  • The Yellow Jackets struck 34 seconds into the second-half to go up 7-2 before RC got goals from Anthony Beccaria and Josh Corley, whose strike with 38 seconds left made it a 7-4 game.
  • That is as close as RC would get as R-MC scored to make it 8-4 with 13:12 left in the game and scored again just over a minute later to make it 9-4.
  • Randolph-Macon outshot Roanoke 36-27 and led in groundballs 36-19.
