Stark Named ODAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Michael Stark (Newport News, VA, Menchville) was named ODAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week announced Monday afternoon. He is the first Maroon soccer player since Chris Collins (Vinton, VA, William Byrd) (Nov. 3, 2008) to garner the weekly honor.

Stark, a senior team captain, notched a pair of goals in the Maroons 3-0 week. The two-time NSCAA All-American came forward from his defensive position to tally Roanoke's first goal of the season in a 3-0 triumph against Ferrum to open the season. Later in the week against Methodist, Stark scored the game-winner to secure the Maroons' 1-0 win. The goal came with just 25-seconds to play in the second overtime to win the 2010 Roanoke Invitational. The two-time All-ODAC selection leads Roanoke in goals early with two, and his defense has helped RC hold opponents scoreless through three games.

Roanoke will travel to Harrisonburg, VA tonight as they will take on Eastern Mennonite in its ODAC-opener. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
