Soccer Teams to Play Against DI Teams on Thursday, April 2nd
SALEM – The Roanoke College men's and women's soccer teams will be in action on Thursday, April 2nd against NCAA Division I opponents.  This will be Roanoke's one scheduled play date during the spring off-season.

The men's soccer team will play against Radford University at Cupp Stadium at 7:30 PM.  The Highlanders were 12-5-3 during the 2014 season with a record of 8-1-0 in the Big South Conference.  Radford advanced to the Big South Championship game on penalty kicks against Winthrop in the semi, but fell to Coastal Carolina 1-0 in the Big South Tournament title game.  The Maroons were undefeated in the ODAC regular season, while going 15-3-2 overall in 2014.  It was the fifth-highest single season win total in school history, tying with the 2000 team.  Roanoke won the ODAC regular season title for the third time in the last four years and 14th time overall.

The women's soccer team will play against VMI on Drill Field 2 at 7:00 PM.  The Keydets had big wins over The Citadel and UT-Chattanooga in the 2014-15 season.  The Roanoke women's soccer team finished the 2014 season with a record of 11-7-1, earning the team's ninth consecutive 10-win season in Phil Benne's 26th season.  Benne has a career win total of 298, among the top-12 in active NCAA Division III coaches.  Marlana Barnard led the Maroons in the 2014 season with nine goals, a tally that ranked 11th in the ODAC.  Ashley Barnes was second on the team in scoring putting up six goals this season.

If you are in the local area and can come watch the games, we urge you to do so.  This will be the only chance you'll get to watch the Maroons in action during the spring.
