The Lead: Orestis Ilias had two goals and Tyler Carbaugh had a pair of assists to lead Roanoke past Shenandoah 4-0 in ODAC Men's Soccer action on Saturday evening in Winchester.
How it Happened:
- RC got the only goal it would need in the 27th minute when a Carbaugh pass was headed home by Adam Yesbeck to make it 1-0 Maroons.
- Roanoke doubled its lead just under 10 minutes later when Carbaugh setup Ilias for the first of his two goals.
- Ilias struck again six minutes into the second-half when he took a pass from Patrick Daum and scored to put RC up 3-0.
- Brandon Bauer notched his second goal in as many games with an unassisted strike in the 72nd minute.
- RC outshot SU 11-3 and held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
- Cole Sinclair picked up his second shutout of the season as the RC defense held SU to three shots, including zero in the first half.
RC is back home on Tuesday when it hosts Randolph in a key ODAC match at 7:30 p.m. There will be free food as part of a Pack the House promotion and a Crossbar Challenge at halftime for 50 dollars.
