The Lead: The Roanoke Men's Soccer team won its second straight match, topping regional rival Greensboro 2-0 on Wednesday.

How it Happened:

  • The Maroons got on the board in the 22nd minute when Jose Robertson set up Atticus Cooke for his first goal of the year to give RC a 1-0 lead.
  • Roanoke doubled its advantage just 48 seconds into the second stanza when Brandon Bauer took a pass from Marshall Hodge and scored to put the Maroons up 2-0.
  • RC held an 8-6 advantage in shots and took the only two corner kicks of the match.
  • Nick Tadros made four stops in the game, including three in the second-half. Caelan Kohut turned away three shots in the second half for The Pride.

Next Up: Roanoke will host the All Sports Café / Roanoke Invitational this weekend. The Maroons will face off with Penn State-Abington on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Kerr Stadium.
