The Lead: Cole Thornton and Michael Chang each scored twice to lead Roanoke to a 4-0 ODAC win over Hampden-Sydney Tuesday night in Salem.

How it Happened:

  • Roanoke scored three goals in the second half, to secure the key ODAC match-up.
  • Thornton scored what proved to be the game-winner 33 minutes into the contest with a long chip shot, off a pass from Benji Pullen, to give RC a 1-0 lead headed into the half.
  • Chang broke open the second half, finding the back of the net off a cross from Marshall Hodge just under four minutes in.
  • At the 58 minute mark, Thornton scored off a pass from David Kuttner to extend the gap to 3-0.
  • A cross from Atticus Cooke to the foot of Chang rounded out the scoring plays for the Maroons at 60:57.
  • Roanoke outshot Hampden-Sydney 9-4 and the Maroons took the only two corner kicks on the night.
  • Nick Tadros made two saves in goal before giving way to Alex Sullivan for the final 13 minutes of the game.
  • Ian Conner made one save for the Tigers and Amal Riley made two the last 20 minutes.
