The Lead: A pair of first-half goals lifted Roanoke to a 2-1 ODAC win over Randolph Wednesday night in Salem.

How it Happened:

  • Atticus Cooke gave Roanoke an early 1-0 lead with a goal to the left corner off a tap pass from Jose Robertson at the 14-minute mark.
  • Fifteen minutes later, Cole Thornton doubled the RC advantage with a goal assisted from Marshall Hodge.
  • Frankie DiOrio closed the gap to one off a penalty kick that found the back of the net at 39:01 to make it a 2-1 game.
  • The score stayed that way for the remainder of the game with Roanoke holding a 7-5 edge in shots in the second half.
  • Nick Tadros made three saves on the night while Erick Cortez-Martine made eight saves for Randolph.
