Rauf and Sibanda Earn All-Region Honors

Salem, Va. – Roanoke College men's soccer standouts Sam Rauf and Fortune Sibanda have been named Third Team All-South Region by the United Soccer Coaches.

Earlier this month, Rauf capped his career with his fourth consecutive all-conference award and his first appearance on the first-team. Rauf was a team captain and anchored a Maroons defense that allowed just 0.83 goals per match this season and had eight shutouts to their credit. Rauf played in 77 career matches and started each. He scored seven goals during his career as well.

Sibanda finished his career with his third straight all-conference selection and this is his second consecutive all-region selection. He played in 13 matches this season and recorded an assist in a win over Emory & Henry. Sibanda played in 66 matches during his time in Salem, starting 60 of them. He finished his career with four goals and three assists for 11 career points.

The duo helped RC finish the 2017 season with 13 wins and a second-place regular season finish in the ODAC.
