The Lead: The Roanoke swim teams each split an ODAC tri-meet today as both Maroon teams topped Randolph but fell to Washington and Lee in Lexington, Va.

Women's Highlights:

  • Maria Vinson touched the wall first in the 200-yard butterfly as she clocked a time of 2:16.89.
  • The 200-yard medley relay team of Reilly Bird, Sarah Virginia Scott, Elizabeth Roberts and Kimberly Large finished third with a time of 1:53.51.
  • Large would then finish second in the 50-yard freestyle (24.65) and third in the 100 yard freestyle (55.28)
  • Quinn Keatley (11:19.73) and Izzy Mack (11:27.00) placed second and third, respectively in the 1000-yard freestyle.
  • Maddie Andrews won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:11.91 and was second in the 100 yard backstroke, posting a time of 1:00.25.
  • Scott placed third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:40.41, while Vinson's time of 2:16.75 in the 200-yard IM was good for second-place.

Men's Highlights:

  • The 200-yard medley relay team of Colin Burnette, Connor Kinkema, Ben Tate and Nick McGrath finished third with a time of 1:39.75.
  • Josh Rauch picked up a first-place win in the 1000-yard freestyle, touching the wall first with a time of 10:09.53.
  • Rauch would later place first in the 500-yard freestyle (4:54.28) and Tate finished second posting a time of 4:54.33.
  • Kinkema was first-place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:10.64 and was second overall in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking a time of 59.13. He also finished third in the 200 yard IM, finishing in 2:02.60.
  • McGrath was third overall in the 50-yard freestyle (22.12).
  • Tate, McGrath, Xavier Williams and Brian Grimmett teamed up to finish second in the 400-yard freestyle relay, combining for a time of 3:15.33.

Up Next: Roanoke will take part in the 2020 ODAC Championships which are set to take place Feb. 6-9 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
