Meet: Bast-Cregger Invitational

The Lead: Track & Field kicked off the 2018-19 indoor season by hosting the third annual Bast-Cregger Invite in Salem.
Women's Highlights
- On Friday, Claire Trotto tied for second on the pole vault with a mark of 3.10m followed by Louise Tester in fifth with a 2.80m.
- Mara Briggs finished first in the high jump with a mark of 1.58m.
- Savannah Gheen kicked off the Saturday portion of the meet with a 4.89m in the long jump, earning fifth.
- With a mark of 13.60m, Jayna Jean-Jules took second in the weight throw while Nicole Moughrabi threw a 12.55m for fourth.
- In the 60m hurdles finals, Lily Lippert finished sixth with a time of 9.91.
- Allison Moreau finished seventh in the 200m with a time of 28.01 for the Maroons.
- Claire Aurand crossed the 60m finals finish line in 8.01 taking second place.
- The 4x400 relay team oh Lippert, Madeleine Robben, Gheen and Aurand closed out the day with a third place finish with a relay time of 4:22.60.
Men's Highlights
- In the men's triple jump, Jayvon Jones registered a 13.59m to set a new school record.
- On Friday, Dillon Kopec placed fourth in the pole vault with a 3.85m followed by Jackson Smith with a 3.40m in sixth.
- Nathaniel Willis led Roanoke with a 10th place finish in the 5000m with a time of 16:25.32
- Kaleb Bland (12.06m) and Kyle Bland (11.80m) took 11th and 12th, respectively in the shot put. Kyle Bland then went on to throw a 13.45m in the weight throw for fourth followed by Kaleb Bland in fifth with 12.87m.
- With a time of 1:33.63, Troy Crawley, Kilian McCorskey, Zach McNeil and Xavier O'Brien took second in the 4x200 relay
- O'Brien then went on to take second in the 60m hurdles finals with a time of 8.63.
- Tyler Wilson won the 1000m with a time of 2:39.24.
- Micah Ray crossed the finish line of the 400m with a time of 51.70 for fourth place.
- Finishing fourth in the 600m Zach Dalton clocked a 1:29.91 followed by Dustin Wade in sixth with a 1:30.62.
- Joey Reid crossed the 60m finish line in 7.116 seconds earning third place.
Up Next: Roanoke takes a break until 2019 when they head to the Keydet Invitational Jan. 18-19 at VMI.
