Wagner Named ODAC Pitcher of the Week

FOREST, Va. – Roanoke right-hander Teresa Wagner has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week as the league announced its weekly awards on Monday.

Wagner, a sophomore from Haymarket, Va., put together a pair of strong outings in earning two wins last week. Wagner opened with 6.0 innings of work towards an 8-2 win over Greensboro. She gave up two unearned runs on one hit with a walk and four strikeouts.

She then spearheaded the Maroons' effort in a 3-1 in eight innings over 11th-ranked Christopher Newport. She went 7.2 innings and gave up just one run on four hits. She walked one and fanned two batters. For the season, Wagner is 5-0 with a 0.43 earned run average, which ranks second in the ODAC. She has struck out 17 batters in 32.2 innings of work with a .109 opponents' batting average, which is third in the league.

Roanoke is back in action on Wednesday when it hosts Randolph in an ODAC doubleheader starting at 5:00 p.m.
