Five Maroons Earn ODAC Softball All-Conference Honors

Forest, Va. – Five Roanoke Maroons have been named to the 2017 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Softball All-Conference teams as the league announced its yearly awards on Tuesday.

Pitcher Teresa Wagner was named Second-Team All-ODAC, while Erin Forbes (3B), Rachel Guilliams (OF), Katie Smith (OF) and Ruthie Williams (DP) were all named to the third-team.

Wagner's 0.81 ERA ranks second-best in the ODAC, while here nine wins was ninth most in the league. She struck out 44 on the year and opponents hit just .207 against her.

Forbes hit .270 on the year with 13 RBI. She had 31 hits and scored 20 runs in 39 games during the season.

Guilliams' .387 average led the Maroon team and ranks 18th highest in the ODAC, while her .448 on-base percentage is 15th highest in the league. She had 36 hits and drove in 21 runners on the season.

Smith hit .308 this season with one home run and 24 RBI. She had 32 hits and her .416 on-base percentage was 23rd best in the ODAC.

Williams hit .324 and drove in 17 runners. In the circle she was 7-1 in 56 innings pitched during the season. Her 1.99 ERA was eighth best in the league, while she averaged 4.6
strikeouts per game.

Roanoke finished the season with a 24-17 record.
