The Basics
Game 1
Score: Roanoke 7 | Mississippi University for Women 5

The Lead: Anna Clowdis hit a walk-off two-run homer to lift Roanoke to a 7-5 win against Mississippi University for Women in game one of the Triangle Classic Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened:
- With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Katie Smith reached on a walk before Clowdis hit her in with a home run to give RC the win.
- Roanoke jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning as Clowdis hit a double to plate Smith.
- MUW tied it up in the top of the second with a sac fly from Watts. Roanoke responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning as Taylor Asimakopoulos and Allison Wagner drew back-to-back walks before Taylor Carter drove in Kate Priester with a single followed by a bases load walk from Smith. Wagner capped the scoring on a wild pitch to give RC a 4-1 edge.
- In the top of the fifth, MUW used a double and a single to tie the game at 4-4. Roanoke took the lead in the bottom half of the inning off an RBI from Samantha Baldwin.
- After a scoreless sixth inning, MUW took a 6-5 lead following a pair of singles and an RC error.
- Clowdis went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Emily Salsberry (1-1) earned the win allowing one run off four hits in 2.1 innings of work with five strikeouts. Salsberry relieved Teresa Wagner who went 4.2 innings.
- Cara Hopper (0-1) was tabbed with the loss after giving up three runs off three hits in five innings.
Game 2
Score: Roanoke 22 | Wilson 3 (5 innings)

Location: Raleigh, N.C.
The Lead: Roanoke scored 10 runs in the second inning, followed by a nine-run fourth inning to take a 22-3 win over Wilson in the second game of the day.
How it Happened:
- Roanoke jumped out to a 3-0 lead after a first inning that saw a leadoff double from Taylor Carter, singles from Mattie Morris and Katie Smith and a sacrifice fly from Becca Wenger.
- Carter and Smith walked before Clowdis hit a single to load the bases in the second. Carter scored on an error before Bailey Perdue plated Smith with a bases-loaded walk. Wenger and Priester hit two straight singles to add three more runs. Bri Nardone drove in Wenger on a fielders choice before Rathbone and Scarlett Sisson each drew walks with the bases loaded. Morris then capped the inning with an RBI single.
- The Maroons strung together eight singles in the nine-run fourth inning, highlighted by a pair from Elizabeth Rathbone and Morris.
- Courtney Oliver (1-0) earned the win after going 3.0 innings allowing only two hits while Taylor Giles took the loss after giving up eight runs off four hits with seven walks.
- Morris went 4-for-4 with five RBI and Carter went 3-for-4 with four runs scored.
