Roanoke was paced by Allison Bonanno who scored both goals on the afternoon. Kathleen Wager had three groundballs and won two draw controls for the Maroons.
Salisbury scored the first 10 goals of the contest before Bonanno stopped the bleeding at the 6:48 mark in the first half. The Sea Gulls (1-0) scored three more times to make it a 13-1 halftime lead.
With the score, 14-1 with 26:02 left to play, Bonanno scored what would be the final goal of the game for the Maroons.
The Sea Gulls outshot the Maroons, 36-12 and held a 15-6 edge in the groundballs column.
Lauren Curtin had four saves in the first half of her first collegiate game for the Maroons. Cristina Scichilone totaled seven second-half saves.
The women will travel to Hollins in a crosstown ODAC contest Tuesday, Feb. 29 in nearby Roanoke. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
