Maroons Close Regular Season with 23-12 Win Over Randolph College
LYNCHBURG - The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team finished the regular season with a 23-12 win over Randolph College on Saturday evening. The Maroons finish the regular season with a record of 9-7 and a 8-2 mark in ODAC play, while the WildCats finish with a record of 4-11; 1-9 in the ODAC.

The Maroons currently sit third in the ODAC after their win today. The complete ODAC Championship tournament bracket will be released on Sunday afternoon, and as the #3 seed, the Maroons will take on the #6 seed in the opening round of the ODAC tournament. The Maroons opened up the first half on a 6-0 run that ran through the first 14:17 of the contest. During that span, Darragh Evarts scored two goals, while Rosie Knisley, Morgan Conroy, and Jamie Golden found the back of the net once each. Randolph scored its first goal at the 14:39 mark as Daniell Haney scored. The Maroons went on to score four more consecutive goals, as Evarts scored one and Allison Bonanno scored three straight from 10:05 to 5:42. Over the final five minutes, the WildCats outscored the Maroons 3-2, but Roanoke still held the 12-4 advantage after the first 30 minutes.

Randolph scored the first two goals of the second half as Melanie Eisele and Danielle Haney found the back of the net. The Maroons answered with two more goals of their own as Knisley and Golden scored one goal each. After the teams traded two more goals each, Evarts scored three straight over a two minute period to give Roanoke a 19-8 lead. In the final 18 minutes of the game, the two teams scored four goals each, as Jamie Golden scored two, Evarts and Katie Gehrdes scored one goal each, as Roanoke defeated Randolph 23-12 in the regular season finale.

Darragh Evarts led the Maroons in scoring with eight goals, adding along one assist. She was followed in scoring by Allison Bonanno, who finished with four goals and a game high six assists. Evarts also led all players with eight draw controls. Lauren Curtin picked up the victory, after playing 54 minutes in goal, tallying five saves.

The WildCats were led in scoring by Melanie Eisele, who finished the game with four goals. She was followed by Danielle Haney who finished the game with three goals. Taylor Klevenz put together a team high five assists. Sara Woodward was tabbed with the loss, giving up 12 goals, while making six saves.

The Maroons led the contest in draw controls (18-17), shots, (38-22), and ground balls (23-13). Roanoke also had the advantage in clears, 17-12.

The first round of the ODAC Tournament will take place on Wednesday, April 24th. The Maroons would host the first round as being the higher of the two seeds in the contest. Again, for more information on the ODAC Tournament, go to http://www.odaconline.com
