Phil Benne Wins 250th Career Game in 3-0 win over Sweet Briar
SWEET BRIAR, Va. --- Rebekah Adams (Springfield, VA, West Springfield) scored two of Roanoke's three goals in a 3-0 win over Sweet Briar in ODAC action Saturday afternoon. The Maroons improved to 10-3-3, 7-0-2 in the ODAC, while the Vixens dropped to 4-11, 0-9 in conference play.
With the win, head coach Phil Benne notched his 250th career victory. In addition, the Maroons earned their 20th 10-win season in the 26-year history of the program. The fifth-straight 10-win season ties the 1998-02 group for the second-most consecutive 10-win seasons. The most was held from 1990-96.
Adams, who notched her third multi-goal game this season, now has four for her collegiate career. All four have come against ODAC opponents, including two against Randolph. She now has six goals on the year.
Sarah Bradley (Richmond, VA, Deep Run) was credited with assists on both of Adams goals, giving her a team-leading five on the season with five. Maya Kantor (New City, NY, Clarkstown), which netted the second goal of the contest, scored her first collegiate goal
Roanoke's Lindsay Kooiman (Fredricksburg, VA, Mountain View) earned the win in goal, while Sweet Briar's Seanne Weekes registered 11 saves. The Maroons totaled 24 shots, 14 on target and held a 5-1 edge on corner kicks.

Carmen Graves (Christiansburg, VA, Christiansburg) added two shots on goal. The defense didn't allow a single shot in the contest, posting their 10th shutout of the season. The women return to action this Tuesday as they host Guilford in an ODAC contest. The match is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.
