Senior Jessica Welfare (Roanoke, VA, Hidden Valley) and freshman Maya Kantor (New City, NY, Clarkstown) earned NSCAA Div. III Women's Soccer All-South-Atlantic Region honors announced this afternoon. Welfare was named first-team while Kantor garnered third-team recognition.

Welfare, a midfielder on this year's squad, was voted to the all-region team for the third-straight year. She was a D3Kicks.com All-South Atlantic Region selection as a freshman. This fall's team captain becomes the first women's soccer player at Roanoke to earn four all-region accolades. The local product from Hidden Valley finished her final season at Roanoke with six goals, three assists for 15 points in addition to 30 shots, 16 on goal with three game-winners. She was a four-year starter and a four-year First-Team All-ODAC selection.

Kantor was a defender in the Maroons backfield that tied a school-record with 11 shutouts on the season. She earned All-ODAC and all-region honors in her first collegiate year with her speed and intensity to win 50/50 balls on a consistent basis. Kantor had one goal, six shots and five shots on goal for the year.

The Maroons finished 13-4-3, including the programs' second undefeated conference mark with a 9-0-2 record. Below is a complete list of the 2010 NSCAA Women's Soccer All-South-Atlantic Region Team.
