Women's Seal #3 Seed in ODAC Tournament with 3-0 Win over Randolph-Macon
ASHLAND --- Roanoke jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 3-0 victory over Randolph-Macon in ODAC women's soccer action Saturday afternoon. The Maroons improve to 12-4-1 overall, 8-3 in the ODAC. The Yellow Jackets dropped to 7-7-1, 5-5 in the conference.

With the win, the Maroons are the #3 seed in next week's ODAC Tournament, breaking the tiebreaker with Bridgewater. Roanoke has won seven of the last eight meetings against R-MC.

Kara Kapell gave the Maroons the lead late in the first half as she chipped her shot over the keeper for her third goal of the season. Just before the half came to a close, Carmen Graves scored off a header from Maya Kantor's free kick to give Roanoke a comfortable 2-0 halftime advantage.

In the second half, senior Lauren Schwarcz scored her second goal of the year midway through the half put the Yellow Jackets away and earn the Maroons third-straight win. Roanoke also earned the opportunity to host the ODAC Quarterfinals on Saturday, Oct. 29.

Kristen Brogan collected three saves in goal for the Maroons. Brianna Housekeeper collected 10 saves for the Yellow Jackets.

The women travel to Fredricksburg this Tuesday, Oct. 25 as they take on Mary Washington in the regular season finale. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
