Carmen Graves (Christiansburg, VA, Christiansburg) was named ODAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week announced Monday afternoon. It's the first Maroon since McKenzie Garst ‘11 (Sept. 29, 2009) to earn the weekly honor.

Graves, a junior midfielder, notched a pair of goals to help Roanoke to a 2-0 week in ODAC action. She began her week by scoring the game's only goal in the 16th minute of a 1-0 win at Guilford. Then again on the road, this time at Randolph-Macon, Graves found the back of the net in the 49th minute for a 2-0 lead that eventually grew into a 3-0 victory for the Maroons. Graves leads Roanoke with 17 points on seven goals and three assists.

The Maroons (12-4-1, 8-3 ODAC) who earned a #3 seed in the ODAC Tournament, are currently seventh in the latest NCAA South Atlantic Region rankings. Two of the four losses have come against top-20 teams in the NSCAA National Poll. The defense has come up with three-straight shutouts which makes nine on the season.

The women travel to Fredricksburg this Tuesday, Oct. 25 as they take on Mary Washington in the regular season finale. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
