LANCASTER, PA – The Roanoke College women's soccer team tied Franklin and Marshall in non-conference action on Sunday, in a 0-0 effort. The Maroons now have a record of 2-1-1, while the Diplomats move to 2-0-1

Carolyn Sarbacher earns her second consecutive shutout with the 0-0 tie. This is the first time the Maroons and Diplomats have played in women's soccer action.

The two teams were fairly even in shots as Franklin and Marshall held the slight edge, 11-9. Roanoke had a one shot advantage heading into the overtime period. The Maroons lone shot in the first overtime period came from a free kick just 40 seconds into the period. The free kick found Ashley Barnes in the box, but Barnes' shot went just wide of the goal. The Diplomats had a pair of shots in the second overtime period, the second of which was saved by Sarbacher.

Marlana Barnard and Courtney Yoke finished the afternoon with two shots apiece, leading the Maroons. Barnes, Megan Branigan, Kara Kapell, Linnea Kremer and Lauren O'Brien finished with one shot each. Sarbacher tallied six saves in the shutout effort.

The Diplomats were led in shots by Alexa Yarish who tallied three, followed by Spencer Plante and Megan Rubenstein with two each. Amanda McGowan also picked up a shutout on the game, finishing with four saves.

The Maroons will play again on Saturday, September 14^th as the Maroons take on Christopher Newport University in Kerr Stadium. That contest is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
