FOREST – Sophomore Nathalie Torres was named ODAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week, announced Monday. She is the first Maroon to earn that distinction since Carmen Graves won the award on September 17th, 2012.
Torres, a sophomore from Wilmington, DE had two outstanding performances in Roanoke's 2-0 week. Against Sweet Briar College, Torres scored two goals, including the game winner in the Maroons' 5-0 victory over the Vixen. Just three days later, she scored one goal in Roanoke's 4-0 win against Randolph-Macon. With six points, Torres is tied for the most points for the Maroons this season, along with Marlana Barnard. Torres has scored three goals this season on just eight shots.
Roanoke returns to action on Tuesday, October 8th as they travel to Lynchburg to take on Randolph College. That contest is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
