BRIDGEWATER – The Roanoke College women's soccer team played Lynchburg College to a 2-2 tie on Sunday afternoon.  The Maroons now have a record of 7-6-2; 5-3-1 in the ODAC while the Eagles now sit with a mark of 8-6-1; 5-3-1 in ODAC play.
 
The Maroons hold a 14-2-2 all-time record against Bridgewater College.  The Eagles jumped on the board early in the first half as Julia Baca slipped one past the keeper off of a pass from Ashley Crossman.  Baca's goal was the only one of the first half, as the Eagles entered halftime with a 1-0 lead.
 
In the second half, Marlana Barnard fired off a shot from thirty yards out that tied the game at 1-1 with 26 minutes left to play in the period.  Barnard's goal is her third of the season.  The Maroons took the advantage just six minutes later as Lauren O'Brien scored the go-ahead goal off of a Courtney Yoke assist.  Roanoke held the lead for the next 14 minutes until Bridgewater's Sarah Conner netted the equalizer after receiving a feed from Michelle Viegas.  Conner scored the final goal of the game, including two scoreless overtime periods, as the Maroons and Eagles finished in a 2-2 push.
 
The Maroons outshot the Eagles, 13-11 on the afternoon.  Roanoke was led in shots by Marlana Barnard who fired off five, followed by Lauren O'Brien with two.  Carolyn Sarbacher played all 110 minutes in goal tallying five saves.
 
The Maroons return to action on Wednesday, October 23^rd as they take on Guilford College in Greensboro, NC.  That contest is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
