NEWPORT NEWS - Sophomore Nathalie Torres was named to the 2013 VaSID Women's Soccer All-State Third Team, announced Monday.  Torres is the first Maroon to be named to the VaSID All-State Team since Carmen Graves and Maya Kantor in 2011.

Torres, a sophomore from Wilmington, DE, picked up her first All-ODAC honors in 2013.  She finished the season with 10 points, scoring five goals with two game-winners.  Torres won the ODAC Player of the Week award on October 7^th, after scoring three goals in the week.  She scored two goals against Sweet Briar College, including the game winner, then scored a goal in Roanoke's 4-0 win over Randolph-Macon.  Torres started all 19 games for the Maroons and took 24 shots.

The Maroons tallied an overall mark of 10-7-2; 8-3-1 in ODAC play.  Roanoke posted an 8-0-1 record in the month of October.  During the nine October games in the 2013 season, the Maroons outscored their opponents 30-3, which included seven shutouts.  The Maroons also completed their eighth consecutive 10 win season, a first time accomplishment for the Roanoke women's soccer program.
