Women's Soccer Falls 2-0 to Bridgewater on Saturday
SALEM – The Roanoke College women's soccer fell 2-0 to Bridgewater College on Saturday afternoon.  The Maroons now sit with a record of 4-4, 0-2 in ODAC play, while the Eagles are now 6-2, 1-1 in the ODAC.

Despite the loss, Roanoke has an all-time record against Bridgewater of 14-3-2, spanning back to the first meeting between the two teams in 1999.

The Eagles' got on the board first at the 28:30 mark in the contest as Ashley Crossman fired a shot into the left side of the goal for the early 1-0 advantage.  The Maroons were able to hold off Bridgewater through the remainder of the half, only trailing by one at the break.  Crossman scored once more for the Eagles at 63:50, scoring her second goal of the game, this time in the right corner.  The Maroons were unable to answer on either of Bridgewater's goals, falling 2-0 in the ODAC contest.

The Maroons took five shots during the match, seeing one each from Anna Carter, Taylor Sayegh, Laura Garbarini, Linnea Kremer and Marlana Barnard.  The shots from Sayegh and Carter were also on goal.  Carolyn Sarbacher played the majority of time in the net, playing for 70 minutes and making four saves.

Keri Rager took five of Bridgewater's 17 shots on the afternoon, while Crossman and Michelle Viegas each fired off three shots.  Krista Kelly played all 90 minutes in goal, making two saves in the effort.

Bridgewater led in shots 17-5, while also holding the advantage in corner kicks, 12-1.

The Maroons return to action on Tuesday, September 23rd as they travel to take on Emory & Henry in ODAC competition.  That game is scheduled for a 5:00 PM start.
