The Lead: Linnea Kremer scored a pair of goals and the Roanoke backline helped keep a clean sheet as the Maroons gave head coach Phil Benne his 299th career win with a 3-0 victory over Elizabethtown Sunday afternoon.

How it Happened:
  • Kremer got the scoring going in the 24th minute when she out raced an E-Town defender for the ball, side stepped her then slid a shot under the charging E-Town keeper.
  • Kremer struck again in the 59th minute when  Nathalie Torres  headed her a pass and she was able to pop the ball straight in the air and it snuck behind the Blue Jay keeper.
  • The Blue Jays had a pair of chances to get on the board but Lauren Berry first hit the cross bar then was stymied by RC keeper Sarah Dvorak on a point blank shot.
  • The final RC goal of the match came following a flick pass off the foot of Marlana Barnard that found a streaking Anna Carter who went in alone and scored.
  • Dvorak finished the game with five saves. RC outshot Elizabethtown 13-8, while E-Town held a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.
