The Lead: After two scoreless overtimes, Roanoke tied Salisbury 1-1 Wedensday evening in Richmond, Va. 

How it Happened:

  • Salisbury's Carli Dixon lifted a shot just above the RC keeper's hands to give the Seagulls a 1-0 lead 12 minutes into the game.
  • After 62 minutes of scoreless play, senior Marlana Barnard set up senior SierraLynn Johnson with a header that found the back of the net, to tie the game 1-1 at the 74:06 mark.
  • Freshman keeper Chris Martin kept the Seagulls off the board with a pair of saves in the final minutes of regulation and the first overtime.
  • In the second overtime, senior Linnea Kremer missed high before senior Marlana Barnard hit the post at the 102:43 mark.
  • Martin recorded six saves on the day while starter Caroline Liebel tallied three. 
  • Salisbury held a 15-10 advantage in shots while both teams tallied three in the second overtime.
