The Lead: Women's Soccer defeated St. John Fisher 1-0 in day one of the Roanoke Invitational Friday night in Salem.

How it Happened:
-Skyler Hayes used a header off a corner kick cross from Jillian Barnard 13 minutes into the contest in what proved to be the game winner.
-Chris Martin made four saves in net for the Maroons en route to the shutout. 
-Roanoke held a 19-5 advantage in shots over the Cardinals and an 8-1 edge in corner kicks. 10 different Maroons recorded shots in the contest. 
-Melissa McGowan made seven saves on the night for St. John Fisher while Elise Olivo tallied a team-high three shots. 

Up Next: Roanoke hosts Brockport Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Kerr Stadium in day two of the Roanoke Invitational.
