The Lead: Women's Soccer fell 2-1 to Brockport in double overtime in the final game of the Roanoke Invitational. 

How it Happened:

• After a scoreless first half, Kathryn Van Orden found the back of the net off a pass from Emily Whitaker, following a Brockport foul,to give Roanoke a 1-0 lead.
• Van Orden tried to extend the lead with a shot that hit the post following another Brockport foul as the score remained 1-0.
• With four minutes left, Brockport tied it up as Maddie Siclare curled a shot off a bad clear and placed the ball into the left side of the net to make it 1-1 to force overtime. 
• Two minutes into the first overtime period, Hailey Davis missed high on a breakaway shot to keep it tied. 
• Ellie Schad hit the post at the 8:15 mark in the second overtime period. 
• Maddie Siclare scored the game winner with 6:19 left on the clock to take the 2-1 win on a free kick following a foul just outside the box. 
• Roanoke owned a 15-8 advantage in shots while each team tallied six cornerkicks on the night. 

Up Next: The Maroons travel to Lynchburg for the Shellenberger Classic September 8-9. Roanoke faces Wheaton (Ill.) on Friday and Salisbury on Saturday.
