The Lead: Emily Whitaker scored with two minutes left in double-overtime to lift Roanoke to a 1-0 win over EMU Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened:

• After 107 scoreless minutes, Emily Whitaker found the back of the net off a pass from Hailey Davis to score the game-winner.
• Roanoke owned a 30-2 advantage in shots, including a 5-0 edge during the overtime periods. The Maroons took the only seven corners on the day.
• The RC defense held strong as Caroline Liebel had to only make one save during the all 107 minutes in net.
• Leah Wenger made 11 saves on the day for the Royals. 

Up Next: Roanoke travels to Guilford on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. tilt with the Quakers.
