The Lead: A second-half goal lifted Washington and Lee over Roanoke in an ODAC Women's Soccer match-up on Wednesday.

How it Happened:

  • The start of the game was delayed 65 minutes due to inclement weather in the area, pushing the start time to 5:05 p.m. in Lexington.
  • Jamie Obremski headed a shot at 30:20, following a corner kick from Jillian Barnard, but it was blocked by the Generals. 
  • Chris Martin made back-to-back saves in the 39th and 40th minutes to keep the game scoreless through the first half.
  • The Generals registered a shot 22 minutes into the second half but Sydney von Rosenberg hit the crossbar and the game stayed 0-0.
  • At 76:11, Allie Miller scored a close-range goal, off a pass from Emily Roche to give W&L the 1-0 lead.
  • Martin made eight saves in goal for the Maroons on the night.
