Women's T&F and Olausen Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Salem , Va. - The Roanoke College Women's Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field team was named a 2016-17 All-Academic Team the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced last week.

In order to be named a Scholar Team, a program must have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA. 

A total of 294 teams (183 women's, 111 men's) were honored for their academics by the USTFCCCA.

The women's program was one of five Old Dominion Athletic Conference members to be named an All-Academic Team along with Bridgewater, Lynchburg, Shenandoah, Virginia Wesleyan and Washington and Lee. 

Sophomore Paige Olausen was recognized as an All-Academic Individual. A total of 608 women earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2016-17 track & field seasons. 

Olausen was one of 11 student-athletes from the ODAC to garner individual honors. 

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards:

  • Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
  • Finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List
