The appearance in the national championship meet caps a season for Briggs that saw her win the ODAC Championship in the high jump and fashion the top jump in the south/southeast region and eighth best in Division III heading into Saturday. For her efforts, Briggs has been named the 2018 NCAA Division III South/Southeast Female Field Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
