Three Maroons Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Team Honors

Salem, Va. – Roanoke College standouts Lindsey Baxter, Mara Briggs and Quinn Harlan have been named to The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All- South/Southeast Region Team.

Baxter was named all-region in the pole vault. Her best mark of the season came at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier on May 2 when she set a school record with a 3.37M. Her performance at Liberty also ranks fifth in the south/southeast region.

Briggs was named all-region in the high jump after she captured the ODAC Championship with a jump of 1.69 M / 5' 6.5". On March 31, Briggs won the high jump at the Fred Hardy Invitational with a with a new school record mark of 1.70m. That jump also ranks as the top mark this season in the region and tied for fourth best in the nation.

Harlan earned all-region honors in the 100m. Her time of 11.78 at the High Point VertKlasse is tops in the south/southeast region and ranks third best in Division III. Harlan also won the ODAC Championship in the 100 with a time of 12.00, just two-hundredths of a second shy of the meet record set by RC alum JaLeesa Osborne. For her efforts, she was named the ODAC Women's Rookie of the Year.  

Briggs and Harlan will each compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships which will be held May 24-26 at the Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
