Salem, Va. – Roanoke College Track & Field standouts Mara Briggs and Quinn Harlan have been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week.

Briggs, a senior from Marion, Va., continues to build her way up to a possible second-straight berth to the NCAA championship field in the high jump after a strong showing at the Virginia Tech Challenge over the weekend. Briggs improved upon her ODAC best-mark in the event, eclipsing 1.65 meters (5-5.00) to finish second overall on attempts and first among Division III competitors. Her new mark ranks 15th in the country and sits 0.06 meters better than the next closest ODAC competitor.

Harlan, a sophomore from Woonsocket, R.I., improved upon her high national ranking in the 60-meter dash at the Virginia Tech Invitational. The 2018 national runner-up in the event posted the third-fastest time in NCAA Division III over the weekend as she finished fifth overall and first among Division III competitors in the event at 0:07.69. That improved her previous ODAC season-best time by 0.05 seconds. Harlan actually beat her previous time twice in Blacksburg as she ran a 0:07.70 in the prelims.

Roanoke will host the 2019 ODAC Championships on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
