Maroons defeat Sweet Briar, 3-0 in ODAC Volleyball Action

Salem, Va. --- The Roanoke College Volleyball team defeated Sweet Briar, 3-0 at the Bast Center on Wednesday evening. The Maroons, who won their 16th match of the series against the Vixens, improved to 19-3 and 5-3 in the ODAC.
The women won with scores of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-15 to win their 19th match of the season. The 19-3 start is the best in school-history. The Maroons have won six-straight matches since their loss to Virginia Wesleyan on Oct. 4.
Caitlyn Long led Roanoke with 22 assists and 16 digs. Marcy Conner had six kills and two block solos to pace the Maroons. Lindsay Wright had a big day for the Maroons, leading them with a career-best 19 digs playing out of position at libero.
Maggie Wagner had 14 digs and four kills while Kelsey Largen had seven digs and five kills. Lauren Reznik had five kills and five digs in her best performance of the season.
Conner moved into seventh all-time in career attacks (1658) and sole possession of seventh in career block solos with 103 for her career. Long had two aces to make her the eighth player at Roanoke with over 100 service aces in a career.
The women will host Lynchburg College on Friday in their final ODAC home match of the season. The Maroons are 20-13 against the Hornets and will look to avenge a season-ending loss in last season's ODAC Tournament. Game time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
